“Playing with my kids was impossible, even doing something as basic as making pasta caused excruciating pain. I couldn’t do anything, simple things like picking up a gallon of milk or shaking somebody’s hand or brushing my hair, or just little things, typing. Everything, everything started to hurt.”
I came to see Dr. Workman because I had medial and anterior knee pain. I had been seeing a physical therapist for about 3 weeks with very little improvement. I do triathlons and run about 5 days a week. I have not been able to run without pain for months. Dr. Workman said he will treat me using Graston Technique, I was curious. He used these stainless steel instruments to rub around the knee, he said he was breaking up adhesions to allow proper healing of the ligaments and tendons. He also gave me some specific exercises and told me not to change my normal routine. My next run I had less pain and was able to finish my distance. After 3 visits I was 85% improved and only feeling slight pain towards the end of my runs and I have been able to add 2 additional miles to my runs. After 5 visits I virtually had no pain. This is great I went 5 visits and no pain, you can’t beat that anywhere. GRASTON TECHNIQUE it is remarkable. I know Dr. Workman will be my first call for any injury. Roger M.
I have been seeing Dr. Workman for about 2 months. I am pregnant and having back and hip bone pain. I have felt much better from my treatments with Dr. Workman, he has helped me tremendously. At 33 weeks I had an ultrasound and my baby was breech, the Doctor wanted to wait until 36 weeks and then do another ultrasound to see if still breech. I couldn’t wait; I asked Dr. Workman if he could do anything, so he said he could perform the “Webster Technique” so I saw him twice a week for 2 weeks and on the third week after my first visit of the week my baby turned. Next day the Doctors took an ultrasound and my baby had turned. I am grateful to Dr. Workman and the Doctors thanked him too. Now I can have a natural delivery, the Doctors wanted to do a C-section, thank goodness for Dr. Workman, he will be my Chiropractor for life and my newborn will see him too. Kate K.

Free Monthly Newsletter For The Friends & Patients of Cary Neck & Back Pain Clinic
Dear Friends and Patients,
Well, well, well, here we are again, it’s Spring time! Seeing everything coming back to life reminds me of the infinite intelligence that runs everything around us. Think about this for a second: every blade of grass, every flower blossom, every bird in the air and creepy crawly thing on the ground…it is all going on in perfect synchrony all the time. ALL THE TIME…WITHOUT HUMAN INTERVENTION.
Sounds kind of like how the human body was designed to work. With ease, without human tinkering and toying. A continuing trend that I’ve noticed over the past several years is all of the lobbying that big pharma is doing to hock it’s man-made miracle drugs on an unsuspecting public. Just listen to most of the drug commercials you see on day time television. Typically two thirds of the duration of any drug commercial is a laundry list of all the dangerous side effects, many including DEATH. That’s right folks…DEATH.
Now if I told you “Hey Mrs. Jones, you should take this little pill here to help with your depression. It may kill you, but you won’t be depressed anymore.” Would you take it? Here’s the scary thing: the most commonly prescribed drugs nowadays are anti-depressants, most of which list DEATH as a side effect.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure the human body wasn’t designed with a Wellbutrin or Seroquel deficiency. I’m on my soap box for a moment here, but where else are you gonna’ hear this? Where does common sense take over. The take home message: folks, leave drugs as a last option. Let’s work on finding the cause of the problem rather than covering up the symptom with drugs. Now, on to a happier topic…April Fool’s Day!
Now That’s Just Mean…Happy April Fool’s Day!
Now that you've smiled at least once today, it's your turn to give this newsletter to someone you might want to bring a smile to (maybe even a chuckle) and Please --- give this newsletter to everyone you can think of.

Doc’s Top Consumer Recommendation
A friend of mine recently purchases these dinky little speakers that I practically laughed at when I first saw them. I was certain I wouldn’t be able to hear them from five feet away! But when she turned them on…boom! The sound quality was great…and loud! Anyway, when they’re hooked together they are about the total size of a small potato. They’re available at www.skymall.com for under $40.00. I didn’t thing you could buy anything from Skymall for under forty bucks! I’m ordering mine today!

Napoleon Hill’s Fifth Lesson of Success: The Habit of $aving
In his book, The Laws of Success in Sixteen Lessons, best-selling author Napoleon Hill goes into depth on the importance of saving money. He cites the Bible verse Matthew 13:12
“For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.”
Powerful stuff! He talks about the fact that saving, like not saving, is solely a matter of habit. He goes on to stress that, in the beginning it is not the AMOUNT of money we begin to save that is important, but rather the simple act of forming a new habit. And a habit, once formed, is not easily broken. So you start off with a small amount, even a few dollars a month. Anyone can live with that. Then you begin to gradually increase over time. Before you know it, you can have a pretty nice little nest egg! Here’s a guideline that Hill offers for daily expenditures:
How Much Should One Save? Current reality for most
- Savings 20% 0%
- Living (clothes, food, shelter) 50% 60%
- Education 10% 0%
- Recreation 10% 35%
- Investments 10% 5%
Just imagine the country we would live in if our leaders would abide by this simple ruling of “saving”. It all starts with us as individuals though, right? Happy $aving!
